(Hartford) Up at 8.15. Dr.Napheys called. Wrote awhile after breakfast. Talked with Napheys. Read letters. Off with Napheys for Springfield at noon. Dined at Massasoit. Called at Holland's to talk over publishing of Napheys books. Called at Mrs. Merriam's. Back to Hartford by 5.10pm train. Dr. Napheys followed at 6. After supper called with Napheys on ____ Goodrich. Off at 9.40 for Springfield with Gray's trunks. Stopped at Mrs. Merriam's. Opened trunks and examined them. Retired at 2.40. Sent three S.S. letters and one other.
