Monday, November 8, 1869

(Westfield, Mass.) Up at 7.40. Cold morning. Snow falling. At 10.50 left for Springfield. Met Maj. Pasco and cousin on cars. called at Holland's. Mailed letter to Fred. Off at noon for house. Met Mr. & Mrs. Taylor of California, with messages for Alice Clancy. Home at 1.10. Out to Twichell's. Passed an hour and a half there. Down to Fisher's with new suit. No snow in Hartford. Tel'd McCullagh. Rec'd book from L. Bill, models from Randolph, & letters from Fred & his father. Took tea at Mother's. Wrote in diary. Walked out to Camp's and back with Alice. Sent four S.S. letters.
