(Bridgeport) Up at 7. Raining still. Out to Convention at 8.50. Met Committee on Organization of State workers at chapel. Prepared report. Busy in convention in forenoon. Alice appeared there unexpectedly. Delightful surprise. Made report on State organization. Alice went with me to Mr. Sterling's to dinner. Met Edgar Hawley there. Out to Convention in afternoon. Closing exercises then. Met many friends. Called with Alice at Meeker & Shelton's. Off for home with her at 5pm. Called at Maj. Mallory's office. Met Mr. Johnson, & Rev. W. H. Moore, and J. B. Smith on cars. Home at 7. Down to post-office in evening and met Johnny at 9pm at cars. Retired at 10.30.
