(Hartford) Up at 7.30. Fresh breeze. Downtown before dinner. Took looking glass to Sesidler's. Called at Charter Oak bank. Paid interest on $6,500 note at Savings Bank. Called at Courant office. Bought lobsters, tripe, and groceries. In afternoon wrote letters. Johnny troubled with cold. Down to Mr. Phelp's at 5.45. Bought groceries. In evening wrote letters. Mailed eight S.S. letters. Johnny remained at home while I went to office. Bathed Johnny's feet, warmed his bed, and gave him cream of tartar.
