(Hartford) Bright, cool day. Up at 7.45. Tended baby awhile. Gurdon called to ask about Kinsley. Called at Father's. Wrote letters. Downtown to bank and post-office, after dinner, with Johnny. Hunted for something for Alice as a reminder of our Wedding day. Bought glass set for table, also match safe. At 4.50 Gen. Sedgwick and wife came from Sharon. Met them at cars. Sarah and Mary and mother called. Walked out with Gen. S. after tea. Retired at 10.30. Sophy & Johnny went to Camps. Remained very late. Had talk with them on their return. Sent eleven S.S. letters and two others.
