(Newburyport, Mass.) Up at 5.25. Off with Mr. 0000, at 6.15 for Boston. Left Boston at 8.30 for Springfield. E. W. Kinsley on cars. Stopped in Springfield half an hour. Bought Bost. & Albany R.R. ticket. Home at 1. Called at Courant office after dinner. Saw Hawley, about Col. Lee. Made purchases for evening. At 6.15 Kinsley came from Boston. Called with him at Gurdon's. Hawley came to tea. Pleasant evening with Hawley and Kinsley. Retired at 12. Showery evening. Sent letter to Fred.
