(Newburyport, Mass.) Up at 7.10. Bright day. Out with Mr. Durfee to Sunday-schools before church service. Attended schools of South Pres. and Prospect St. Congl. churches. Addressed latter. Preached from Luke XI.35, in S. Presb. church in forenoon. After lunch attended Union Mission S.S. (Miss Brown's) at foot of State St. Addressed it. At 3.30pm went to S.S. Anniversary of So. Presb. Church. Address that. Out to Mr. Powell's with Mr. Durfee, after visiting and addressing teachers of mission school at their room. In evening heard Mr. Durfee preach. Met pastors at his room at close of service. Wrote a letter to Fred. Retired at 11.
