(Hartford) Bright cool day. Up at 7.30. Tended baby awhile. Talked with Johnny about thoughtfulness and persistant working. Read to him from Bushnell's sermon. Twichell called. Iron caps for fence posts came. Planted bulbs in garden. After dinner napped it on lounge two hours. Called at Father's. Mrs. Maria Moore called; also Mr. & Mrs. Whiting. Johnny worked in attic room, arranging papers. Mary and Prime at Mrs. Colt's. Wrote up diary. Examined letters and papers on table. Took tea at Father's with Sedwicks and Alice. Sent six S.S. letters. Johnny's friend Mr. Brown called. They went downtown together. Retired at 11. Met Dr. Williams. Talked with Father.
