(Hartford) Up at 8.30. After breakfast, made out monthly report, read letters, etc. Downtown after dinner. Obtained check from bank. Called at Post office for cash on Cheshire order. Telegraphed to Parker House. (In forenoon, Miss Hamersly called to talk about coffee-room in Morgan St.) Wrote letters and took nap in afternoon. Had talk with Johnny as to his appreciation of the possibilities of his new position. Off at 7 for Boston. Met Hon. J. Z. Goodrich, Mr. H. Leonard of E. Hampton, & Mr. Hixon of Springfield. Napped it from Worcester to Boston. At Parker House at 11.45. Retired at 12. Sent three S.S. letters and telegrams and one other.
