(Boston) Up at 8.15. After breakfast called at Shute's. Called at Pratt's. Looked at his patterns of summer goods. Talke about modes of S.S. address. Returned to Parker House. Studied in room there, in preparation for evening. Shute called. Dined with him. Called at his office. Out to Roxbury at 5 o'clock, to Rev. E. E. Hale's. Had pleasant time with boys. Dr. Hale not at home. Mrs. Hale returned at 6. After tea there, rode into town with Miss Hale. At 7.30, at Union Park St. (New South) Church, met Dr. Hale. Delivered address on Infant Classes & the Use of the Blackboard in S.S. room, to teachers there. Back to Parker House. Lunched. Retired at 11.15.
