(New York) Up at 7.45. Over to Prime's to breakfast. Met Gen. & Mrs. Franklin there. Gen. McClellan called. At 10 went to Dr. Westerbelt's & had corns cut. Called at S.S. Workman office. Then at Tyler's office. Wrote E. W. Rice. Letter from home & Fred. Down to Wallace's. Dined at Dorlon's. Over to Williamsburgh. Called at Taylor's. Made ready for evening. Met Kellogg, Peltz, Clark, Smith & Wilder, at tea. Out to Institute, in evening. Conducted Institute and made address on S.S. Progress. Vincent & Sherman also spoke. Over to N.Y. with Wilder & Searle. Stopped at Ashland House. Supped. Retired at 12.20.
