Monday, February 27, 1871

(Germantown, Pa.) Up at 7.30. Off at 9.15 for town with Kingsbury. Called at S.S. Times office. Talked with Garrigues as to new book on Specimen S. Schools. Thence to Union rooms. Met Knoles, Rice, Wurts, Kingsbury, Allibone, & Dr. Willard. Talked over cases of Van Buren, Childlaw, Peters, etc. Off at 12.30 for W. Phila. with Kingsbury. Lunched with him at depot. Off by 1.20pm train for New York. Train delayed 45 minutes in starting. Wrote up diary and letters on cars. Mailed letters in N. Y. Supped at Dorlon's. Over to Brooklyn (E.D.) for evening. Attended S.S. Institute at 1st Bap. Ch. Met Taylor, Peltz, Knox, Diehl, and others. Over to N.Y. at close of meeting with Mr. Diehl, & Mrs. Randall. Stopped at Ashland House. Lunched. Retired at 12.20.
