(Hartford) Up at 6.10. Baby not well. Downtown. Obtained watch from Steele's. Called at Phelps' and Kibbe's as to joiner work. Called at Courant office, Talcott & Fuller's, Brooks', post-office, J. G. Wells', Ch. Oak bank, etc. Paid Hatch & Tyler's bill for Father. Johnny came home at 11.20. Met him at cars. Looked at room. Talked over his brother George's plans. Wrote up diary. After dinner Mr. Phelps called to plan for ventilator and fence. Showery afternoon. Downtown with Johnny. Bought swing and knife. Late tea. Johnny wrote on draft of sketch of Convention. Made notes of travel for 1870, and other items for Annl. Rep't. Hung pictures in children's rooms. Retired at 12. Sent five S.S. letters.
