(Hartford) Up at 8. Out to Asylum Hill church. Heard Twichell on Cheerful Giving and Doing for Christ. At home all afternoon reading and looking over papers. Out to Camps in early evening with Johnny. Mrs. Camp very poorly and despondent. Wrote on slate with her. Home and wrote to Gray and Fred. At church in forenoon met Eugene Richards, with Warner, and Twichell examined Prof. Stowe's books in Twichell's church study. Retired at 11.
