(Hartford) Up at 8. Off with Johnny for Springfield at 9.45am. Wrote Fred on cars. Called at Holland's and at Mrs. Merriam's. Johnny went home at noon. Earnest talk with Mrs. M. about faith. Again at Holland's. Dined at Massasoit. Off at 1.45 for Boston. Mr. Bartlett on cars. Made notes for address on blackboard teaching. At Shute's office at 5. Thence with Frank Stearns to R. N. Stearn's. After tea called at Shute's with Frank. Gathering of mission & church school singers at Mr. Stearns' in evening. Retired at 11.
