(Hartford) Up at 8. Bright day. Downtown with Johnny. He was mad an elector at Town Hall. He bought silver set for his niece.. Called at post-office, at boot-makers, and at bank. After early dinner, Johnny left by 1pm train for New York & Oil City. Returned to house. Wrote letters. Kitty Camp called. Downtown with Alice. Called at post-office, Geer & Pond's, & Benj. Bliss'. Bought new umbrella. Met Kate G. Dutton at Geer's. Home to tea. Sent fourteen S.S. letters and two others. Called at Father's, with Sophy & May. Will and Mary Prime there. Wrote up diary. Retired at 10.50.
