(Hartford) Up at 5. Bright day. Spaulding and his wife off at 6. Fred and Sophy & Johnny went with them to cars. After prayers called with Fred at Gurdon's studio, Kellogg & Bulkley's, Kelsey's and walked to Colt's meadows. Back to Asylum St called on young Shew. Off at 11.20 for New Britain. Fred, Johnny, Sophy, & Mark of party. Dined at Humphrey House. Called at Mr. Bower's. Met Capt. Chamberlain. Walked about Russell & Erwin's works. Met Wm. Parker. Home by 1.20pm train. Fred off at 1.50 for Norwich. Took nap of three hours. Downtown in evening with Johnny. Called at Mrs. House's. Retired at 10.30. Sent three S.S. letters.
