(Hartford) Up at 7.30. Miss Mary Burnett at house. Downtown at 10.30. Called at market. Thence to No. Main Street to see about Kelsey's new furnace. After dinner Kelsey called to look at furnace and celler and rooms. Called at Father's. In evening went with Alice, Sophy, and May to Mary Shipman's to pleasant party. Capital charades. Admirable acting by James and Mrs. Prime. Home at 12.15. Retired at 12.45. Sent six S.S. letters.
