(Hartford) Up at 5.30 to see Mr. Camp. Off at 6am train to Springfield and home. Back to bed again and slept until 7.45. Downtown with Johnny. Bough shoes at Watson's. In afternoon paid interest on note to R. S. Stern. Kitty and Grace at dinner and tea with us. In evening called at James' to obtain Indian names for Mr. Blackstone. Downtown with Johnny to Allyn House. Thence to Gen. Hawley's office. Met him and H. C. Robinson there. Later, saw Mr. Blackstone. Home and abed at 11.15. Sent ten S.S. letters and one other.
