(New Haven) Up at 6. Cloudy morning. Rode to Chapel St. depot. Took congress water. Breakfasted at depot. Off for home at 7.55. Met Gen. Greeley on cars. Home at 9.30. Johnny back from Oil City - having reached house on Saturday, 25th inst. Looked over papers and letters, and talked with Alice & Johnny. After dinner called at Johnny's room. Met Twichell & Mother. Downtown with Johnny. Alice joined us downtown at 4.15. Selected goods for clothing at Kelsey's. Ordered fowl & oysters. In evening called at Father's. James there. Took bath. Retired at 11.
