(Hartford) Up at 7.15. Cool, bright day. Wrote Mrs. Camp. Finished letter to Fred. Downtown at 12.30. McClunie agreed to turf edgings. Met Kate and Alice. Went with them to hair-dressers. Deposited checks. Bought straw matting to piece out in Johnny's room. Johnny dined with us. After dinner, wrote to the West, declining invitiations to S.S. Conventions. Downtown with Johnny. Telegraphed Fred. Bought bowls. Home at 5.30. Met Van de Camp. Off at 6.20 for Norwich. John Buck on cars. Fred met me at depot, went with him to Hakes. Talked about Miss Blackstone. Retired at 11. Sent five S.S. letters and three others.
