(Hartford) Up at 9. Head aching. Father sent me $500 - by Sophy. E. S. Gould called and borrowed $25. Downtown before dinner. Called at Ch. Oak Bk. and balanced a/c. At 2pm attended Jamie Chapman's funeral. Twichell called in the morning and asked me to preach for him on Sunday. McClunie and his men at work on grounds. Went with Johnny to Afflecks to pick out shrubs. Downt with Johnny to Gas Co's office. Met Dr. Vermilye and talked of S.S. work. Wrote letters and evening. Sent ten S.S. letters and telegrams. Johnny obtained blue pill for me. Took does of it. Retired at 11.
