(Hartford) Up at 7.50. Bright day. Down to Pearl St. church with Johnny to hear Rev. Mr. Demming of Worburn preach. His sermon was on Jacob's Well, and the duty of every man to dig some well. Walked from church with him. Slept at home, most of afternoon. In evening read poetry - from Bonar's Hymns to family in our bed-room. Retired at 10.30.
