(Hartford) Up at 7. Down to market before breakfast for pork. Trout for breakfast. Cold morning. Johnny and I made sundry attempts to start a fire. He went downtown for kindling. Fire started in afternoon. Hung pictures again in Gallaudet room. Balanced cash. Downtown alone before tea. In evening wrote on Annual Report until 11.15. Then aided Johnny in his report of Bridgeport Convention. Retired at 12.10. He set up to finish report in his room - and mail it by owl train. Sent three S.S. letters and one other.
