(New York) Up at 7.45. Walked out before breakfast. At 10 walked downtown with Will. Stopped at Snedecor's. Called at Tyler's. Wrote Wurts. Called at Taylor's new rooms at E. 9th St. Downtown with Tyler to Mr. F. Marquand's. Thence to Wallace's, barber's, and Knapp's. Had hair cut. Called on young Warren. Bought present for Gen. E. S. Greeley's crystal wedding. Lunched at Mary's. Met Miss Ruth Dana. Off at 3 for New Haven. Met H. T. Blake. Stopped at New Haven. Met May Gray & May Bacon. Supped at New Haven House. Met Dr. Newton & Marsh. Off for home at 8. Home at 9.30.
