(Boston) Up at 6.50. Bright day. Off at 9 for home with Kingsbury and Ensign. Met C. C. Coffin and Rev. Mr. Adams of Wethersfield on cars. Home at 1. Johnny went downtown after dinner. Took nap on lounge. Called at Father's. Gurdon ill from operation. New second girl (Eliza) at house. Wrote letters. Downtown in evening with Johnny. Called at Courant office. Telegraphed Fred. Took bath. Johnny sprinkled grounds. Retired at 11. Wrote four S.S. letters and two others.
