(Hartford) Up at 8.50. Snowing briskly. Kept housed at work with Marsh, and chatting with Fred until noon. Down to depot. Met Gen. Greeley. Fred off at 12.20 to meet Walter at Springfield and go thence to Palmer and Norwich. Marsh off for Springfield at 2. called at Father's; also at Asylum to meet Storrs. Sent fourteen S.S. letters. In evening went to Allyn House to me Jay Clarke & C.C. Coffin, to hear their statements as to projected Northern Pacific R.R. Passed pleasant evening there until 11. Home at retired at 12.
