Friday, June 23, 1871

(Hartford) Up at 8.10. Bright warm day. Down town after breakfast. Tel'd Dickerson not to publish a statement. Called at Jordan's, Steele's, Way's, Hussey's, Smith & Pratt's, etc. Mr. Camp called and paid Charley's bills. Down to train at 1.50 to mail letter. Kitty Camp dined with us. Sent nine S.S. letters and one other. Downtown, marketing with Sophy. At 6.15 met Johnny jus back from Waterbury. At 6.20 Frankie Wattles came. Called at Father's. Hoed ground near swing. Put wire up for wisterias. Read in evening. Retired at 10.30.
