(Hartford) Up at 8.30. Alice not well. Dr. Hunt called. Wrote letters. Downtown before dinner. Called at Post Office, J. D. Burnham's, D. Hawley's, Ch. Oak Bank, & Peckham's, etc. Took nap after dinner. Wrote up diary. Downtown with Johnny in latter part of the afternoon. Telegraphed Parker House. Off at 7.10 for Springfield. Met Marsh there. He accompanied me thence to Boston. Hon. H. G. Knight on cars. Long talk with him. Reached Parker House at 11.45. Retired with Marsh at 1.
