(Hartford) Up at 7.40 with head-ache. Sent off five S.S. letters and one other. Downtown before dinner. Met Bern. Dined with him at Sweetland & Hall's. Off at 3.30 for New Haven. Called at Jarman's & at E. L. Clark's. Took supper at New Haven Hotel. Met A. G. Hine there. Called on Miss May Bacon. Home again by steamboat train. Met Capron on cars. Retired at 11.
