(Hartford) Up at 7.30. Bright day. Wrote up diary and balanced cash. Commenced to write Essay on the S. S. and its relation to the home instruction. Downtown to Watkinson library to read up for Essay. In afternoon Fletcher absent at Plymouth etc. Downtown to post-office etc. Charley Stowe took tea with me. Called at Father's. Wrote on letter to Fred. Retired at 1.15. Sent six S. S. letters.
