(Hartford) Cloudy morning. Alice better of erysipelas, but tumor gathering still. Snow commenced falling briskly. Wrote awhile. Downtown. Called at Mrs. Well's & paid dressmaking bill. Called at office of Post, at Sykes', J. G. Well's, Bronson's, Bank, etc. Home at noon. At dinner got bone in throat. Called at Father's. Started for Dr. Beresford's. Relieved on the way. Wrote letters in afternoon and evening. Called again at Father's. Sent off five S. S. letters and seven others. Read awhile to Alice in her from Christ in Song. Took bath. Retired at 11.45.
