(Boston) Up at 6.30. After breakfast off at 8.30 with Gray for home. Tel'd Alice. Met Franklin Chamberlain on cars. Home at noon. Gray went to see Holcombe. Mr. Kingsbury called. Wrote Fred, also three S. S. letters. Marsh went through to Spring'd at 7.15. Gray left for N.Y. at same time. Downtown to post-office. Back at 9.30. Retired at 10.30, very tired.
