(Hartford) Up at 8. Mr. Hyde of Franklin called. State Temperance Convention assembled at Asylum Hill Church. Down to market. Called at Allyn House to see Mrs. Ives. Wrote on changes for second edition of Children in the Temple. Attended Convention. Rev. Misters Pettibone & Oriatt dined with me. L. M. Marsh called. Wrote again on changes on book. Off at 4.45 for Springfield. Called at Holland's. Received first finished copies of Children in the Temple. Home at 7.15. Called at Father's & James'. Slosson & Annie & Sophy Van Alen at Father's. Wrote awhile. Sent four S. S. letters, two telegrams and one other letter. Retired at 12.
