(Phila) Up at 7.30. After breakfast made notes for day. Young Chatfield called. Went with him to Dr. Marsh's Ch. S. S. Clinton & 10th Sts. Spoke there. Went into pulpit with Dr. M. At his request, addressed congregation after his sermon. Met many friends there. Dined at Continental. Met W. E. Dodge, Mr. Jessup & others there. Wrote awhile at noon. Mr. Wurts called. Went with him to Av Ch ---10th St. Presb. Ch. S. S. Spoke at miss'y meeting there. Thence to Bethany Miss'n S. S. in carriage with Wurts & Kingsley. Spoke there. Back to hotel. Met Naphreys. Off with Chatfield to young people's meeting at Clinton St. Ch. Conducted its service. Thence with Chatfield to Bethany Miss'n. Heard Gove. Pollock & others speak. Back at 10pm. After supper, wrote awhile to Fred. Retired at 11.15.
