(Hartford) Very cold day. Up at 7.30. Wrote awhile. Downtown. Left book notice with Sperry. Home at noon. Wrote again in afternoon. Had letter from Gray. Wrote to him long reply. Sent off letters to Ch'n Banner & S. S. Times. Tel'd Ned as to Alice's state. Sent in all nine S. S. letters two other letters & one telegram. Met Dr. Curtis & had talk with him as to Mrs. Warburton's will. Downtown before tea. In eve'g Fletcher went to Meriden. Attended J. C. Fletcher's lecture on Spain at Center Ch. Chapel. Walked up the Hill with Camps. Called at Father's. Balanced cash etc. Retired at 11.15.
