(Hartford) Up at 7.50. Quite ill with cold on lungs. Sent Fletcher to Springfield to look over plates of book. Wrote at table. Unable to go to New Haven, New York & Phila as planned. Looked over papers. Sent off three S. S. telegrams, nineteen S. S. letters & two others. Downtown after tea. Called at post-office & A. Dunham's. Saw Chas. Dunham. Called at Father's. Retired at 11.15.
