(Hartford) Good Friday. Up at 7.15. Wrote awhile. Downtown to post-office. Bought perfume & etc. Called at Father's. After dinner downtown again. At 3.30 off for New York. Wrote letter on cars. At New York at 8.15. Called at Mary Prime's. Out to Jackson's store. Back to Mary's. Anna & Slosson, Mrs. Gen. Franklin, Jas. Van Alen & Walter Trumbull there. Talked with Prime & Jas. Val Alen until 12.30. Wrote again to Fred and packed articles. Retired at 2.30. Sent letter from Hartford to Fred. Rec'd one from him at St. Augustine. Very rainy afternoon & evening. Sent three S. S. letters.
