(Hartford) Up at 7.40. Wrote letters most of the day. Sent off fifteen S. S. letters and seven others. W. B. Rice and Gen. Otis called. Went downtown with Gen. O. Called at Hawley's. Back to house. Off at 6pm for East Hartford. Took tea at John B. Smith's. Attended & addressed S. S. Anniversary at Congl. Ch. Chapel. Home again at 10pm. Retired with Gen. Otis in South room at 11pm.
