(Springfield, Mass.) Up at 6am. After breakfast at the Massasoit, off at 7.15 for Boston. Holland on cars. Worked on Annual Report. Reached Boston soon after 11. Called at 40 Winter St. Saw Shute. Called at Kinsley's & Pratt's. Went with Col. Attwood to Custom House. Saw Judge Russell. Thence to Kinsley's & Shute's. Met W. C. Chapin. Dined at Parker's with Shute's. Called at Goodman's, Pollard's, Chapman's, Boston Tract Soc'y etc. Wrote up diary. Took supper with Shute at Parker House. Retired at 10.30.
