(Hartford) Up at 7.15. Cool morning. Bright day. State Election. Wrote awhile. Another letter from Gray. Finished letter to him. Read to Alice from his letters & my letter to him. Downtown and voted. Met Twichell. Looked in at minster's meeting and its close. Walked to Hill with Twichell & Prof. Stowe. Downtown after dinner. Obtained check for S. Knowles, Sr. Rec'd letter from Fred. Returning home, sent off several letters. Out to Prof. Stowe's to see Charley. After tea out to Mr. Keep's to talk with Mrs. Olmstead about Gray. Took quinine freely. Called at Father's. Annie arrived there. Wrote up diary. Sent four S. S. letters and one other. Retired at 11.15.
