(Hartford) Up at 8.20. Wrote letters. Downtown. Called at Father's. Saw Slosson and Annie. Sent off five S. S. letters. At 12.50 off with Mrs. Gallaudet for New Haven. Called there at Jarman's and Cutter's & Snow's. Mrs. G. went to Guilford at 3.15. Came home by 3.15 train. Little "Ally" had fallen into bathing tub and scalded herself. A merciful deliverance from severe injury. Downtown at 8.45. Called at Courant office & office of Post. Had long talk with Hawley. Sent off four more S. S. letters, one telegram and two other letters. Read awhile. Retired at 12.10.
