(Hartford) Stormy morning. Up at 8. Sophy commenced going to Mrs. Draper's school. Sent four S. S. letters and one other. Wrote on sermon. Out for the first time just before tea. Fletcher back at noon. Downtown. Called at post-office & Ruggles'. Bought school books for Sophy. Worked on sermon again in evening. Read to Alice. Retired at 12.15.
