(Hartford) p at 7.15. Dr. Hunt opened tumor on Alice's throat. Downtown before dinner. Called at Cedar Hill Cemetery office. Paid for foundation of Camp monument. In afternoon called at Rev. Mr. Spalding's to talk over S. S. Convention. Out to Twichell's before dinner, also down to office of Post. Sent letter to Hon. S. Williston, also seven more S. S. letters and three others. Called at Father's. Wrote a letter to Christian Banner & book-notices for Post in evening. Retired at 11.30.
