(Hartford) up at 7.20 with head-ache. Bern came. Downtown to post-office. Wrote letters. Balanced cash. After dinner started to go to New Haven. Met Mr. Haven and stopped back. Called at Bank. Sent $100 to Crittenden. Mr. Haven took tea with me & off at 6.25. Sent off thirteen S.S. letters and three others. Received good letter from Fred. Wrote to him. In evening called at Father's. Retired at 10.45.
