Tuesday, June 8, 1869

(So. Car. R.R.) Woke near Aiken. Washed on car. Reached Augusta soon after 6. Took coffee. Had boots blacked. Off for Atlanta at 7. Balanced cash. Wrote up diary. Breakfasted at Bergolia. Wrote May, Alice, Wurts, Fletcher, Eggleston, Dimock & Lynchburg Pmaster. Reached Greensboro at 1pm. Fred Camp and his uncle met me. Went to latter's home. Joyous meeting with Fred. Walked out to post-office after dinner. Rev. Mr. Bemara & wife came to pass evening. Pleasant chats with them. Retired at 10pm.
