(Greenville, S.C.) Up at 5. Off for Columbia at 6am. Left letters at hotel & went back for them. On cars wrote Spring'd Repub'n & S. Bowles & Co. Breakfasted at Belton. Wrote on letter to Alice. Met Rev. Dr. Adger of Columbia Theolog. Sem. Had long & free talk with him as to politics, theology & etc. Shared his lunch. Reached Columbia at 5. Received letter from Fred & telegram. Obtained washing. Off at 6 for Branchville. Wrote Mr. Camp on the cars. Lunched at Kingsville & Branchville. From Branch'e at midnight off for Augusta. Slept from 9pm most the time. Wrote Rev. S. F. Jones.
