(Hartford, Ct.) Up at 9, after troubled morning sleep. Wrote letters and examined papers. Downtown. Called at G. W. Coit's & had talk with him. Also at post-office and bank. After dinner downtown again. Called at Courant and post-office. Home at 4.30. Wrote letter to Cong'l & Rec'd on S.S. Vacations. Called at Father's. Sent off seven S.S. letters & telegrams and one other. Took bath. Retired at 11.30.
