(Chattanooga, Tenn.) Up at 4 to look at weather. Lay down again and slept until 7.10. Clouds breaking away. After breakfast started on horseback with Mr. Emory to Lookout Mtn. Delightful ride to Pt. Lookout and other points of interest. Visited the Seminary on the mountain. Dined there. Met Dr.s Blanchard & Nelson, also Mr. Bancroft. Rode to City of Ricks. Back to Chattanooga. Called at Col. Stanley's & Mr. Monteith's. Took supper at ice-cream parlor. Off for Nashville at 8pm in sleeping car. Retired at 10. Wrote Gray. Finished letter to Alice.
