Tuesday, June 15, 1869

(Nashville, Tenn.) Up at 6.30 in sleeping car at depot. Rode to City Hotel. Out to barber's & took bath. Breakfasted. Walked - after devotions - to post-office & about town with Mr. Emory. Wrote McCullagh at Louisville & Henderson, and Rev J. C. Buchanan. After dinner Mr. Emory & Mr. Cahal called. Went with them to top of statehouse to hotel & etc. Telegraphed McCullagh. Walked with Fred to dock to see steamers. After tea walked out. Fred bought hat. Attended auction. Commenced letter to Alice. Packed for a start. Retired at 10.50.
